Organizations that embrace change with an innovation mindset can use actionable insights from their networks and tools to become more agile and achieve customer centricity. That’s the key takeaway from BMC CTO Ram Chakravarti in a recent innovation-focused piece for Forbes.
Data is at the heart of how businesses respond to change. And Internet of Things (IoT) devices like smart phones and wearables and operational technology (OT) systems like monitoring hardware and software are already driving more data than that of traditional sources and enterprise data centers. That’s leading to an increased interest in and adoption of artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML)-driven data orchestration solutions to help derive value from it—and make it a competitive differentiator across all industries.
According to Ram, there are steps that organizations and their IT departments can take to modernize and become more agile, including:
- Optimizing data pipelines to enable cross-functional collaboration
- Automating everything you can
- Transitioning from data science to operationalizing data to create new, innovative solutions
Technology spending is another key area that can help organizations evolve. More recently, that spending has moved beyond IT and expanded across the rest of the business. It joins the enterprise-wide adoption of formerly IT-only toolkits and platforms in helping organizations be increasingly adaptable in the face of change. By embracing innovation and the advancements it affords, organizations can empower employees to do higher-value work and be more creative and innovative.
