Key Roles
Role	Responsibility
Administrators and System Programmers	• Responsible for the overall health of the system data • Maintain and run the software that supports the scheduling system, which includes installation, upgrades, configuration, maintenance and control of the scheduling software's security
Operators	• Monitor the scheduling system • Fix and re-run problematical jobs, but typically do not create job schedules
Schedulers	• Create the job schedules in a production environment • Verify that jobs run correctly • May monitor the system in conjunction with Operators
Mainframe Operators	• Apply policies and procedures to meet the scheduling needs of the company • Responsible for capacity planning, server consolidation, and performance optimization of systems, databases, networks, and applications
Certified Administrator	• Execute installation, enterprise scale implementation, advanced tuning and configuration, and issue resolution on Control-M for Distributed Systems

Certifications

BMC Education Services offers certifications for Control-M Schedulers and Administrators. These certifications validate Control-M proficiency by testing candidate skills through an online examination. The Certified Control-M Scheduler certification is new for version 7.0, and is available after completion of both version 7.0 BMC Control-M Scheduling classes. Upon receiving a passing score, you will return to your organization with increased visibility as a recognized BMC Control-M expert, and with improved capabilities to impact your business.
