Workload Right-Sizing

"Too little" is a big problem when it comes to infrastructure resourcing – but so is overspending on resources that sit idle. Workload right-sizing gives you complete visibility into how your IT infrastructure capacity is being utilized and also enables you to stress-test against possible future situations.

To begin, you’ll set up capacity views for the systems you want to right-size. Pre-configured capacity views are available for many technologies, such as Kubernetes (K8s), VMWare, VSphere, and Azure. You can also create customized views.

The tool evaluates utilization and offers easy viewing of resource availability in virtually any infrastructure domain, including on-premises, cloud, container, database, network, and others. You can narrow your search to focus on capacity within a specific domain or time period, or zero in on resource types such as CPU, memory, or storage. It proposes solutions to oversubscription and predicted saturation. 

The tool proposes solutions to oversubscription and predicted saturation. It also detects old snapshots and idle VMs and makes power on/off recommendations to maximize capacity. Once you have these recommendations in hand, you can optimize your resource allocation.
