Leverage artifical intelligence (AI) to empower new practitioners and add value with the introduction of Code Explain, a feature within BMC AMI DevX Code Insights that leverages generative AI to summarize what code does and what the business context is, enabling developers to make decisions about changes and mitigate the risk of those changes.
Enhance operational resiliency
Diagnose issues faster, reducing mean time to repair (MTTR) and improving availability and uptime with BMC AMI Ops Insight’s upgraded and fine-tuned AI-based problem detection and diagnosis capabilities, including a more efficient probable cause engine and enhanced root cause analysis. This update reduces false positives, improves accuracy, and automates the processing of all detection events.
Embrace cloud for flexibility
Enhancements this quarter empower:
- Financial institutions to have an immutable copy of data in a private or public cloud, giving them the ability to comply with operational resiliency requirements such as the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA) regulations in the European Union
- Storage administrators to perform standalone recovery of their data without manual intervention
Support mainframe application transformation
New features and functionality help developers:
- Reproduce errors in test after an abend occurs in production. BMC AMI DevX Abend-AID can help developers respond faster to an issue, reproduce it, and test their fix with new test-data-creation assistance from the abend itself. With this new feature in BMC AMI DevX Abend-AID, developers will now have a new report section that can guide them in providing the inputs present at the time of the abend so they can re-create these scenarios in test.
- Retrace the steps that lead to an abend while performing debugging in BMC AMI DevX Workbench for VS Code. When debugging a program, developers often want to know how they got to that point. If only they could turn back time and see all the steps and data, they could see how they got where they are. Now, they can.
- Optimize continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and minimize complexity by making changes directly in the integrated development environment (IDE). Users will now be able to view component versions and transfer tasks to new releases in BMC AMI DevX Code Pipeline, which easily organizes scopes of work as projects and requirements.
Mitigate cybersecurity risks
Increase the speed with which ransomware attacks can be detected by BMC AMI Command Center for Security with two new features in BMC AMI Datastream for IBM® z/OS®. Today, a file being encrypted is an indicator that a ransomware attack or compromise could be underway. With new settings out of the box to flag binary values outside a normal range, BMC AMI Command Center users are now alerted to this potential. A second feature adds out-of-the-box user behavior associations, which will identify and alert BMC AMI Command Center users about non-standard user behavior that could indicate an insider threat (intentional or unintentional).
Harness the power of critical mainframe data
- New enhancements to BMC AMI Copy for IBM® Db2® enable customers to easily convert from alternative solutions and reduce CPU usage by up to 94%, enabling you to improve recovery times by taking 16x more copies than before at no additional costs.
- Improve the performance on your IBM® IMS™ data while still enjoying zero downtime and maintaining full application availability. For BMC AMI Data for IMS™, we are continuing to give more tools to database administrators to make decisions with a key differentiating feature, online defrag. The new release allows easy access to key reorg statistics in a single place with an advanced online defrag that is now centralized and managed via the Online Defrag Wizard, storing historical defragmentation activity data, improving default settings, and providing deeper analysis.
New BMC AMI education courses
Numerous new courses are continually added to the BMC Education library, supporting learning paths in BMC AMI Security, BMC AMI Ops, BMC AMI DevX, BMC AMI Storage, and BMC AMI Data. Additionally, a new certification for developers using AMI DevX Code Pipeline has been added.
