Strategic Planning for Configuration Management Service

What you get:

BMC will perform the following in one environment:

• Conduct a series of workshops to build a Configuration Management Plan that provides the structure, standards and support for the management and maintenance of the Configuration Management Database (“CMDB”)
• Facilitate the development of the configuration data model and baseline application model
• Map individual components of the configuration data model and service model to CMDB classes and attributes
• Map up to five discovery data sources to the configuration data model
• Document the rules associated with normalization and reconciliation of data sources into the CMDB
• Design CMDB governance and control measures
• Define roles and their necessary permissions to support the configuration management processes

Customer will be responsible for:

• Explaining the following:
  • Business context and consumer use cases
  • Architectural overview of existing systems and data sources
  • Existing process, organization and governance practices
• Attending workshop and collaborating with relevant Customer roles
• Providing the following:
  • Business objective
  • High-level existing architecture
  • Illustrative examples of existing data model
  • Relevant process documentation

Deliverables: Using BMC’s standard methodology and templates, the following Deliverables are in scope for this project and will be delivered:

• Configuration Management Plan

Completion Criteria: BMC will have completed these Consulting Services when the in-scope Consulting Services have been completed and the Deliverables have been delivered to the Customer Project Manager.
