Ayman Sayed was named president and chief executive officer of BMC Software, Inc., in October 2019.
Prior to joining BMC, Ayman was president and chief product officer of CA Technologies, a $4.25 billion Fortune 500 company, where he was responsible for the vision, strategy, and development of their portfolio of products and solutions. During his tenure, he led a significant transformation of CA into higher-growth businesses including infrastructure software management, security, automation, and DevOps.
Ayman previously served as senior vice president at Cisco Systems where he led the Network Operating System Technology Group, responsible for the software on which nearly every Cisco networking product runs. He helped Cisco pioneer the programmable networks arena and drove innovation broadly across networking software, which enabled the evolution of the intelligent network to support application awareness and the Internet of Things.
Ayman holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Cairo University.
Chief Revenue Officer
Jason Andrew is chief revenue officer for BMC Software, Inc. He is responsible for all sales globally for the company.
Jason began his BMC career first as a partner in his native New Zealand, and then joined the company in Australia in 1998. He served as a principal software consultant in the Asia Pacific region, then accepted an R&D role at the company’s global headquarters in Houston.
After another tour in Asia Pacific, he returned to the US and held a variety of sales roles, including leading the channels, outsourcers and system integrators group, the Americas direct sales organization, and marketing for all of BMC. He also led sales for the US West and Latin America.
Jason’s tenure at BMC also included a London-based assignment where he served as general manager for Europe, the Middle East and Africa for four years. Prior to his current role as head of global sales, Jason led sales for the Americas.
Jason holds a bachelor’s degree in business studies from the University of Auckland, New Zealand.
Senior Vice President, Operations
Michelle Carbone is the senior vice president of operations for BMC Software, Inc.
Michelle joined BMC as a financial analyst for R&D, progressed through several roles as a finance director supporting Professional Services, Marketing, and Sales, and was then promoted to vice president of sales operations for BMC’s largest business unit. As head of this group, she transformed it into Strategic Revenue Operations, a modern function covering global sales operations, sales enablement, automation and analytics, and the revenue office, which encompasses renewals, best practices and the deal desk. While in these roles, she was a key contributor to the company’s transition from public to private in 2013, and in the ownership transition to KKR in 2018.
Michelle is executive sponsor for BMC’s Women in Technology and Business group, a grassroots initiative which promotes networking, growth, education, and community outreach. She is also an executive sponsor and personal supporter for BMC’s participation in Susan G. Komen.
Michelle has a bachelor’s degree in business administration and accounting from Houston Baptist University.
Chief Technology Officer
Ram Chakravarti is chief technology officer for BMC Software, Inc. In this role, he oversees the BMC Innovation Labs as well as the company’s overall technology strategy, common architecture, corporate development, and shared services including user experience design, quality assurance, and cybersecurity.
Prior to joining BMC, Ram was a director at KKR Capstone focused on value creation in KKR’s technology investments in private equity and growth equity.
Prior to working at KKR, Ram was an associate partner at McKinsey & Company, where he advised clients on large-scale, multi-year digital transformations, and established McKinsey’s Digital Architecture Service Line in North America. Earlier in his career, Ram worked at Oracle, Ariba, tech startups and Merck in a variety of software engineering and architecture roles.
Ram holds master’s degrees in decision sciences and organizational dynamics from the University of Pennsylvania and in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Science. He has co-authored a book on R&D and IT portfolio management which is being used in graduate programs at the University of Pennsylvania and other schools in the US.
Senior Vice President, Customer Success
Imran Khan is senior vice president of Customer Success at BMC Software, Inc. He leads the company’s Services and Education business, Services Sales, the Customer Support organization, and the Chief Customer Office function.
Previously Imran was senior vice president of global services and a member of the executive team at JDA Software, a supplier of software to world-class retailers and manufactures. Imran’s 1,500-strong organization was responsible for providing consulting and strategic services to most of the globe’s top supply chains, with services accounting for a third of JDA’s revenue.
Prior to JDA Imran was vice president for worldwide network consulting at Hewlett Packard where he was responsible for developing the industry’s leading networking consulting business, including a strategy and operating plan that supported the new HP networking product set. Earlier Imran was vice president of global services at 3Com Corporation, running all aspects of 3Com’s service business, including training and education, and was a leader and key collaborator on the integration team that managed 3Com’s acquisition by HP.
Imran is a qualified accountant and holds a degree in business and finance from the University of Middlesex, United Kingdom.
President, Compuware Integration and Select Technologies Group/Mid-Market
Bill Miller is president of Compuware Integration and Select Technologies Group/Mid-Market for BMC Software, Inc. Previously, Bill led the ZSolutions business, with full P&L responsibility for the company’s suite of industry-leading Automated Mainframe Intelligence (AMI) solutions.
Bill has also served as BMC’s chief operating officer, president of its Mainframe Solutions Management business unit, and general manager of Data Management.
Bill joined BMC from BindView Development, where he was senior vice president and chief operating officer. Earlier in his career, Bill spent 21 years at IBM, where he held a variety of positions including in sales, marketing and general management.
Bill earned a Bachelor of Science in engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Dallas.
Senior Vice President, People & Spaces
Eric Olmo is senior vice president for People and Spaces for BMC Software, Inc.
Eric joined BMC in 2004 and currently oversees the company’s global human resources, real estate and facilities, community relations, security, and business continuity functions.
Prior to BMC, Eric served as a senior human resources leader for Gateway. Earlier in his career, Eric held analyst roles with the Federal Reserve Bank.
Eric holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and political science from Kansas University. He also holds a Master of Business Administration and a Juris Doctorate from Kansas University. He is a member of the Kansas Bar.
Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer
Marc Rothman is senior vice president and chief financial officer of BMC Software, Inc.
Marc is a seasoned finance executive with more than 25 years of experience leading large, global companies. Before joining BMC, he was executive vice president and chief financial officer at VeriFone Systems, a leader in global payment services and solutions.
Prior to VeriFone, Marc served as senior vice president and chief financial officer of Motorola Mobility and led Motorola Mobility’s spinoff from Motorola Solutions and its sale to Google in 2012. Marc also served in finance leadership roles at Motorola Solutions, General Instrument, and Audit Advisory Services at Deloitte.
Marc is member of the board directors of Quantum Corporation and is chairman of Quantum’s Audit Committee.
Chief Marketing Officer
Saar Shwartz is chief marketing officer for BMC Software, Inc.
Saar joined BMC in 1999 through the company’s acquisition of the industry-leading Control-M solution. Early in his career, he worked in R&D for Control-M and, after joining BMC, progressed through roles in product management and marketing. Prior to being named CMO, Saar led strategic marketing for BMC and was a significant contributor to the company’s 2014 rebranding following its privatization.
Prior to his BMC career, he spent six years as an officer in the Israeli Air force working with complex, real-time software systems for combat airplanes.
Saar has a bachelor’s in business administration and marketing from the University of Houston. He also studied aeronautical and space engineering at Technion – Israel Institute of Technology.
Chief Product Officer
Ali Siddiqui is chief product officer for BMC Software, Inc. In this role, he has end-to-end responsibility for the company’s entire product portfolio, including the BMC Helix suite, Control-M, and its Automated Mainframe Intelligence (AMI) solutions.
Ali brings to BMC more than 30 years of industry experience managing, building, and growing successful software businesses. His roles have included serving as product general manager with full P&L responsibilities and managing business units with more than $2 billion in revenue.
Before joining BMC, he was the head of AI Ops and IT Ops for Broadcom’s Enterprise Software division, and previously led the IT Ops division at CA Technologies. He has also held leadership roles at Cisco, Oracle and VMWare. Earlier in his career, he founded a business that provided real-time personalization for wireless carrier portals, and worked at several Silicon Valley startups, including being part of one which successfully went IPO.
Ali earned a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from the California Institute of Technology and a Master of Science degree from Stanford University.
Advisor to the CEO
Steve Solcher is advisor to the CEO of BMC Software, Inc.
Steve was named named SVP of Finance and CFO in 2005, and served in that role until 2020. Previously, Steve was the company’s treasurer and a vice president of Finance. He joined the company in 1991 as assistant treasurer and became treasurer the following year. During his tenure, BMC grew from nearly $130 million in annual revenue to $2.2 billion in annual revenue in 2013, its last year operating as a public company. In addition to leading many M&A acquisitions as CFO, Steve was instrumental in BMC’s transition from being a publicly traded company to becoming a private held company in 2013, and its sale to KKR in 2018.
Previously, he was employed by Arthur Andersen as a certified public accountant.
Steve is a member of the board of directors of Main Street Capital Corporation, and he also serves on the development board of the Mays Business School at Texas A&M University. He was recognized by the Houston Business Journal as 2012 Best CFO–Large Public Company.
Senior Vice President, General Counsel
Patrick Tagtow serves as BMC’s general counsel, corporate secretary and chief compliance officer.
Prior to being named general counsel, Patrick served as BMC’s vice president of litigation and compliance with responsibility over global litigation management, legal and regulatory enterprise risk management and BMC’s compliance and ethics program.
He joined BMC in 1999 from the law firm of Haynes and Boone, L.L.P. where he practiced commercial and employment litigation.
Patrick received a bachelor’s degree in computer science from the University of Texas at Austin, as well as a master’s of business administration and doctorate of jurisprudence from the University of Houston. He has been practicing law since 1993.
