The Challenge

Accelerating insight across hybrid complexity

Banco Bradesco is one of Latin America's largest financial institutions, serving more than 110 million customers through over 2,300 branches and a rapidly expanding digital ecosystem.

In recent years, Bradesco adopted Databricks and other analytics solutions to deliver better insights to business users. But it’s a challenge to deliver analytic data across a large and complex hybrid cloud environment, especially at the speed demanded by the business.

For Bradesco, connecting cloud-based analytic workloads to other systems required extensive manual scripting. The bank wanted to replace the manual work with a solution that would:

  • Orchestrate data across the bank’s mainframe and cloud platforms and its analytics pipelines
  • Ensure data governance and trustworthiness
  • Do all of this with speed and consistency

The Solution

Automating and productizing data pipelines

By using Control-M to orchestrate end-to-end processing across Bradesco’s z/OS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud environments, the bank’s Data Intelligence team standardized, automated, and productized end-to-end data pipelines. As a result, Bradesco’s business users can quickly request and receive advanced analytics that inform and help optimize critical business functions.

Even when making a first-time request for a particular dataset or analysis, a user can have the insights they need within an hour.

The Data Intelligence team created a new service request portal where business teams define data requests. Once a request is approved, Control-M automatically provisions the necessary resources, deploys agents, creates and validates workflows, promotes them between environments, and moves them into production—typically within 30 to 60 minutes.
