BMC Mainframe Performance Advisory Service

This advisory service will review mainframe component performance metrics and provide processing recommendations within an Assessment Report. This review will help identify components that are performing sub-optimally and highlight situations that could cause reduced processing throughput or unexpected downtime. 

What you get:

BMC will perform the following:

  • Perform a mainframe performance assessment of up to three LPARS*
  • Conduct workshops to assess the Customer environment in collaboration with the Customer.
  • Analyze the following, identify potential performance issues and provide recommended improvements for:
    • CPU* allocation and specialty engine utilization 
    • Workload Manager (WLM) Analysis
    • Storage analysis (Central and Aux)
    • DASD performance
    • IBM Health Checker analysis
    • VSAM analysis 
    • Catalog performance
    • VLF performance
    • Batch analysis (which jobs are most resource intensive)
  • Prepare and deliver an Assessment Report 

The Customer will be responsible for:

  • Providing access to Customer’s subject matter experts
  • Arranging all meetings with stakeholders
  • Providing access to necessary analysis data

Deliverables: Using BMC’s standard methodology and templates, the following Deliverables are in scope for this project and will be delivered:

  • Assessment Report

Completion Criteria: BMC will have completed the Services when the in-scope Services have been completed and the Deliverables have been reviewed in accordance with the Terms of Use and delivered to the Customer Project Manager.  From delivery start date, the service must be consumed and complete within 90 days.
