Installation libraries

Before you can install your products, you must unload the installation libraries from tape or from the Electronic Software Distribution (ESD) site. The JCL that is required for unloading or downloading installation libraries depends on the source of the installation libraries and which installation media you are using to install the products.

You have the following options for unloading or downloading the installation libraries, with different JCL for each option:

Installation source Download JCL link
multiple tape sets or the ESD site, and you are unloading installation libraries from the B-series base installation tape

B-Series Tape Installation Libraries Unload JCL

Note: The following variables must be edited in the JCL:

 

one or more tape sets or the ESD site, and you are downloading installation libraries from the ESD site

Note: The ESD site is password protected. You must have a user ID and password to access the site directly or by using the Installation System. To obtain an ESD user ID and password, contact your BMC Software sales representative.

ESD Installation Libraries Download JCL

Note: The following variables must be edited in the JCL:

  • <userid>
  • <password>
  • <unit>
  • <volume>
  • <sms_storage_class>
  • <sms_management_class>
  • <sms_data_class>
  • <new_data_set_name>
