Maintenance Guidelines for products installed with the BMC OS/390 and z/OS Installer
BMC Software, Inc. produces periodic update service for products that are installed and maintained with the IBM SMP/E product. This service is distributed as a Program Update (PUT).
These service updates have been through extensive internal and customer acceptance testing and are designed to be applied together as proactive maintenance.
To ensure the stability of our software on your systems we recommend that the software be maintained at a maintenance level within 12 months of the last PUT level.
In the event of a Severity 1 or 2 problem, a fix will be generated and tested in an expedited manner. The eFix PTF distribution service is the most expedient way to take delivery of these types of fixes.

Technical bulletins are used to inform customers of pervasive problems and environmental dependencies as they are discovered. You can register to receive these Proactive Notification bulletins through email, as soon as they are published.

Quarterly or semi-annual PUT tapes can be sent to you automatically. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org and provide the information that is documented in Installation Overview section in your product installation guide.
