The Installation System is used for most BMC components, products, solutions, and families that run on the mainframe platform (see the list of supported products). Use the Installation System to install, configure, and maintain these products.

There are several ways to obtain the Installation System and subsequently the products. Select the method that is best for you and click the link.
- Direct FTP
In this method (recommended method with FTP service available on mainframe), you use FTP to transfer the image directly to your mainframe. Use this sample JCL for this method.
- Distributed FTP
You use FTP once to transfer the image to your workstation and again to transfer the image to your mainframe. This method is useful when you cannot use FTP to transfer files directly to your mainframe from an external site. Use these sample files (download and upload) for this method.
- Web browser
You use a web browser to copy the image to your workstation, and then you
upload the image to your mainframe. This method is used when you cannot use FTP.
- Physical media
You obtain the image from physical media and then upload the image to your mainframe. This method is used when you cannot download files from an external site.
