Using eFix to find PTFs

The eFix utility allows you to search and find information about PTFs. You can use eFix to

• find a description of individual PTFs
• find descriptions of PTFs that are contained in a PUT release
• find descriptions of PTFs that are related to FMIDs in your environment

To find a description of individual PTFs

1. From the Search type pull-down menu, choose PTF.
    
2. In the Search Argument text box, type the PTF numbers you want to search for.
   
   You can copy and paste from the PUT listings.
    
3. Click Submit.
   
   The PTFs are displayed in the eFix query window. You can view the PTF information by clicking the title of the PTF.

To find descriptions of PTFs that are contained in a PUT release

1. From the Search type pull-down menu, choose PTF.
    
2. In the Search Argument text box, type the level number of the PUT release, in the format Lnnnnx.
   • nnnn is the number of the PUT release (for example, 0602).
   • x is the level of the PUT release (for example, A).

   For example, type L0602A to find all PTFs in the PUT0602A release.
    

3. Click Submit.
   
   The PTFs are displayed in the eFix query window. You can view the PTF information by clicking the title of the PTF.

To find descriptions of PTFs that are related to FMIDs in your environment

1. Click Define on the eFix entry screen to define the FMIDs that are in your environment.
    
2. Select the FMIDs that are in use in your enviroment.
    
3. Click Apply Changes.
   
   The FMIDs are saved in your profile and you are returned to the eFix entry screen. You can change the FMIDs by returning to this screen and selecting or deselecting the desired FMIDs.
    
4. From the Version pull-down menu, choose User Defined.
    
5. From the Search type pull-down menu, choose PTF.
    
6. In the Search Argument text box, type the level number of the PUT release, in the format Lnnnnx.
   • nnnn is the number of the PUT release (for example, 0602).
   • x is the level of the PUT release (for example, A).

   For example, type L0602A to find all PTFs in the PUT0602A release.
    

7. Click Submit.
   
   The PTFs are displayed in the eFix query window. You can view the PTF information by clicking the title of the PTF.
