What's New for August 2009
In August 2009, we will introduce additional improvements to the BMC Customer Support web site. The significant new features are:
- The ability to save an incomplete Issue for later without submitting it (Save and Continue)
- The ability to request an email confirmation when submitting an Issue
- When you add a Support contract ID to your profile, you will be given the option of adding the associated products to your personal products list (My Products)
- Additional information available on Defects and Enhancement display and report
Save and Continue
A Save & Continue button will be displayed with the Submit and Cancel buttons on the Create Issue form. Clicking Save & Continue will preserve the information entered for the current Issue, add the Issue to your Pending Issues list, display a warning message that the Issue has not been submitted, and return you to the Issue form.
If you have Issues saved which have not been submitted, a Pending Issues button will be displayed near the Save & Continue button, to allow you to retrieve a saved Issue. Pending Issues are removed from the list when they are submitted or by canceling them on the Pending Issues form. Clicking Cancel on the Create Issue form will not remove a saved Issue from your Pending Issues list.
Requesting a Confirmation Email
A checkbox labeled Receive Email Notification will be displayed near the Submit button on the Create Issue form. If this box is checked, a confirmation email will be sent to your primary email address when you submit the Issue. You may update the Issue by replying to the email. Your most recent selection (checked or unchecked) will be saved and restored when you submit another Issue.
Adding a Support ID to Your Profile
When you add a Support contract ID to your profile, a dialog will be displayed allowing you to add all, none, or selected products associated with that ID to your "My Products" list. Maintaining your list of product names makes selecting product names more convenient when submitting Issues. Your custom products list will also be used with future enhancements to our Knowledge Base search.
Additional Information on Defect / RFE List
Support ID and summary information have been added to the table view and associated report display for Defects and Enhancements.
