Abnormal Termination Events for a Specific Abend
Not all abnormal terminations are equal. Abend222 is much less critical than abend0C7. Natively, however, TOM will fire whenever an event identified as an abend occurs. In this webinar we will present information on setting up abnormal termination events for specific abend codes. Participants will see actual object definitions that achieve the goal of accurately trapping a particular abend. A real world example of trapping a particular abend is provided.

Providing Object Attributes for Custom Automation – Part 1
The need for customer written automation requires that attributes and information on objects managed by Total Object Manager. How do we get that information out of Total Object Manager? When do we know that this information should be updated or deleted? This webinar illustrates when and how this information can be extracted from Total Object Manager. Users will be introduced to the GET API service call in this session.

Providing Object Attributes for Custom Automation - Part 2
In a second part to ‘Providing Object Attributes for Custom Automation’ we will examine the use of the AutoOPERATOR rules processor to assist us in obtaining object attributes. Users will also be introduced to the LIST API service call which provides the names of objects and sets to customer written EXECs We will also briefly discuss some of the best practices that should be employed in the use of these tools.

Defining Client to Server Relationships
Client to server relationships are little used but quite helpful to users. Many online applications need access to the services of other address spaces to run at their optimum. One address space does not need the other to survive like a parent to child relationship. This is an important relationship type nonetheless. This webinar explains the use of this relationship type and how to set the appropriate attributes in TOM.

Using Recovery in Total Object Manager
A strength of Total Object Manager is its ability to work with an automation tool such as MAINVIEW AutoOPERATOR to provide advanced capabilities which are greater than those available “out of the box“. One of those advanced capabilities provided for object availability management is recovery of a failed object. In many cases recovery of an object is more than just restarting it. There are times where data must be restored or other elements reset before the object is restated. In this presentation users will look at an example of how to set up recovery in AutoOPERATOR and in Total Object Manager.

Variables in Object Definitions
Many users migrating to Total Object Manager are presently CSM users. Many of these CSM users have taken advantage of data in the AutoOPERATOR shared variable pool to write their own specialized automation (rules and EXECs). When going to Total Object Manager they find that data no longer available to them. The data is not gone – just in a different form. This webinar will show users how they can obtain that data again and take advantage of it for their specialized automation.
