The BMC Closed-loop Change and Configuration Management solution combines BMC Remedy Change Management Application and BMC Configuration Management (formerly Marimba). This solution gives customers a set of easy-to-follow guides on how to change from their current operating systems and to deploy Windows Vista to the existing IT infrastructure.
The BMC Configuration Management component of the BMC Closed-loop Change and Configuration Management is now compatible with and able to support Microsoft Windows Vista. BMC Configuration Management provides policy-based automation of change execution for patches, operating systems, and applications for IT departments looking to deploy Windows Vista. In addition to supporting major operating systems, BMC Configuration Management support for Windows Vista can:
- Coordinate Windows Vista upgrade via built-in templates that support the Microsoft BDD methodology
- Meet demanding compliance audit requirements
- Deploy and update images via recommended Microsoft standard Windows Image (WIM) and ImageX tools and formats
- Centrally manage all Windows Vista images, and build parameters and patches through BMC Configuration Management infrastructure
BMC Configuration Management supports industry best practices, including the IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL®) and is an integral part of the BMC Change and Configuration Management strategy. The BMC Change and Configuration Management strategy delivers integrated and automated change management, release management, and configuration management into a closed-loop process encompassing all phases of the change life cycle: request, planning, implementation, and verification.
Building on the foundation of BMC Closed-loop Change and Configuration Management, the BMC Desktop Deployment Module (BDDM) provides change management tasks and an automated workflow specifically developed for Windows Vista using BDD.
