Monitoring Key Components
MAINVIEW for Linux – Servers is designed to allow you to monitor key components across your Linux systems. Through the EZMENU system, you can quickly navigate to any information in the product. Online Help is also provided for every field and view in the product. Some of the key Linux areas monitored include the following:
- system activity
- process activity
- user information
- shared memory, message queue, and semaphore statistics
- mounted file system information such as space utilization, i-nodes, and block information
- listing of all directories with associated utilization
- system configuration information
- z/VM (hypervisor) performance information
The MAINVIEW for Linux – Servers interface is designed so that you can quickly identify systems and/or applications consuming the most resources in real-time. Historical data is also provided for trend analysis. However, you can also quickly drill down to any monitored Linux system to look at specific detail.
MAINVIEW Integration
Since MAINVIEW for Linux – Servers is part of the overall MAINVIEW product family, it can be used with other MAINVIEW products for overall application management. Performance information for an application running both on Linux and z/OS can be integrated into one MAINVIEW display.
