Key benefits

Business challenge

IT organizations must ensure high availability of systems and key sub-systems to respond to the accelerating requirements fueled by the Internet economy. Meeting this demand requires advanced automation, problem analysis, and correction, all performed with reduced operations resources.

BMC Software solution

MAINVIEW AutoOPERATOR is a fully integrated BMC Software product family that provides tools, techniques, and applications to improve both productivity and availability. With MAINVIEW AutoOPERATOR products, many data center tasks can be automated through the use of Rules, EXECs, timer facilities, and command interfaces.

MAINVIEW AutoOPERATOR provides solutions to many problems that are common across data centers.

The MAINVIEW AutoOPERATOR product family is completely integrated, from installation through online usage and Rules. For example, an MQSeries event Rule can issue a CICS or MVS command, if the corresponding MAINVIEW AutoOPERATOR product is active. And new MAINVIEW AutoOPERATOR products can be added into an existing configuration without reinstalling the existing products.

All MAINVIEW AutoOPERATOR product options provide

MAINVIEW AutoOPERATOR AOAnywhere uses TSO and batch interfaces to access AutoOPERATOR subsystems across the sysplex.

ALERT management

MAINVIEW AutoOPERATOR manages ALERTs for multiple mainframe systems. It supports single point-of-exception management with unique ALERT consolidation and grouping features. Features include automatic ALERT aging, automatic ALERT escalation, and ALERT retention across system restarts. The Continuous State Manager™ ensures that important systems and subsystems are available when key applications need them.

MAINVIEW AutoOPERATOR compares a desired state against the actual state of the system and subsystems and uses the exception mode to show objects that differ in the actual state and desired states.
