Overview

Informix database administrators do not have access to tools that allow them to perform precise and accurate recovery of Informix data in the event of a loss. Existing utilities lack information to allow accuracy in determining the recovery point from a database backup.

Administrators also lack flexibility in responding to a loss in data. Often the Informix database must be recovered when only a small amount of data has actually been affected by the loss. This can be time-consuming and costly.
