BMC Software Takes Leadership Position in the 2012 Workload Automation Magic Quadrant

BMC Control-M Makes Customer Shortlists for Product Functionality, Virtual and Cloud Support, Mobile Device Support, and Strong Integration

HOUSTON, March 1, 2012 – BMC Software (NASDAQ: BMC), the recognized leader in Business Service Management (BSM), today announced that it is positioned by Gartner in the Leaders Quadrant of the 2012 “Magic Quadrant for Workload Automation,” authored by Milind Govekar, Biswajeet Mahapatra  and published in February 2012.
 
According to Gartner, the report positions vendors in one of four quadrants - Leaders, Challengers, Visionaries and Niche Players - based on the companies' vision and ability to execute on that vision. Vendors in the Leaders Quadrant, as stated in the report, “combine insightful understanding of the realities of the market, the ability to influence the market's direction, the ability to attract an industry following and the capacity to lead the market. Leaders have the proven ability to deliver on their vision and to support their customers through periods of stability, as well as periods of change or economic hardship. The leaders control most of the market's business activities and are the primary influencers of market evolution.”
