BMC Software Named in 2010 “Best Places to Work” by Human Rights Campaign Foundation

Global software giant scores 100% in Corporate Equality Index

HOUSTON, January 29, 2010 – BMC Software (NASDAQ: BMC) has been named as one of the country’s “Best Places to Work” by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation, based on the company’s perfect score of 100 percent in the HRCF annual Corporate Equality Index (CEI).

BMC’s policies on diversity, training, health care and domestic partnership benefits helped it earn top marks once again in this year’s survey.
BMC has developed and continues to implement a strong, integrated and comprehensive BMC Diversity & Inclusion Strategy and Scorecard to track its progress against a number of key human rights objectives.
BMC’s steady focus on these objectives helps the company sustain a respectful work environment that supports both business and individual growth and success.
“The CEI rated many businesses across the United States, using a range of human rights policy and practice criteria,” said Hollie Castro, BMC’s senior vice president for administration. “BMC Software’s continued efforts in ensuring individual employee equality in each of the survey’s main criteria earned the prestigious 100 percent ranking and the status as one of America’s best places to work. We’re very proud of that.”
