About BMC Performance Manager for Databases
BMC Performance Manager for Databases provides 24x7 problem detection and response for the distributed database environment. By proactively monitoring configured database environments, BMC Performance Manager for Databases will detect when a parameter reaches a user-defined or default threshold and issue a warning or an alarm to notify DBAs of the problem. By allowing users to set the alarm level at which they receive notification, users of BMC Performance Manager can easily define what aspects of the database environment might adversely affect business availability. Via e-mail or pager, users can be notified that a warning or alarm has occurred. BMC Performance Manager for Databases also provides the capability of defining recovery actions that will automatically respond to a warning or alarm by executing a pre-defined action against the database. This lets users rely on BMC Performance Manager to handle errors — whether mission-critical or minor — without user intervention.
