BMC Software Appoints Software Veteran Cesare Capobianco as Vice President of Sales for EMEA

Ex-Software AG Veteran Andreas Zeitler Appointed as Regional Vice President of Germany

HOUSTON - (Nov. 3, 2005) - BMC Software, Inc. [NYSE: BMC], a leader in enterprise management solutions, today announced that Cesare Capobianco will join its sales team as vice president of sales for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) reporting to Cos Santullo, senior vice president, worldwide sales and services. In this role, Mr. Capobianco will have overall responsibility for BMC’s sales operations, and execution in EMEA. Mr. Capobianco’s coverage will include 19 countries. Mr. Capobianco will be joining BMC, effective December 1, from Hewlett-Packard (HP) where he currently serves as vice president and general manager of HP’s Software Global Business Unit in EMEA.

Mr. Capobianco began his career at HP, where for 20 years he progressed through successive enterprise IT sales and marketing roles, culminating as HP’s Software Global Business Unit’s vice president and general manager in EMEA. In this role Mr. Capobianco is responsible for the management of HP’s overall EMEA software business where he created and executed a significant growth strategy. Mr. Capobianco holds an electronic engineering degree from the University of Rome.
With today’s announcement, Andreas Zeitler also joins the European sales team as regional vice president of Germany. He will be reporting directly to Mr. Capobianco. Mr. Zeitler joins BMC from Software AG where he was responsible for driving sales for Central Europe, Middle East and Asia. Andreas brings more than 20 years of experience from the Software Industry from the technical support, marketing and sales of software in various organizations.
