BMC Software® to Present at LinuxWorld Conference & Expo® HOUSTON - (Jan. 7, 2005) - BMC Software, Inc., [NYSE: BMC], a leading provider of enterprise management solutions, today announced that they will be participating in the LinuxWorld Conference & Expo® with two interactive presentations and a booth. The LinuxWorld Conference, held in Boston, February 14-18, focuses on Linux and open source solutions. BMC Software, in booth #1014, will be giving demos of their Linux management solutions including PATROL® for Linux, MAINVIEW® for Linux and their Marimba® Configuration Discovery and Automation solutions. These solutions enable companies to move beyond traditional IT management to better control their critical services from a business perspective, as part of BMC Software's Business Service Management (BSM) strategy. As part of their contribution to the Linux knowledge base, BMC Software will be presenting two hands-on labs on Monday, February 14th from 9:00 am to noon. Bob Andresen will be presenting "Monitoring Linux with Native Tools", while Steve Carl will cover "Managing a Mixed Linux and Windows Environment". On Tuesday, February 15 from 5:30 - 7:00 pm, Steve Carl will also give an informal Birds-of-a-Feather meeting entitled "Bringing Linux into a Corporate Environment". Server Management for Linux BMC Software's Server Management for Linux Solution combines the PATROL® and MAINVIEW® management solutions in order to give customers the ability to manage their Linux servers from the perspective of both their distributed- or mainframe-based operations staff.
