REMEDY ANNOUNCES AVAILABILITY OF FLASHBOARDS 5.1Action Request System Flashboards provides visual tracking and monitoring of business operations at a glanceMOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Jan. 13, 2002 - Remedyî, a BMC Software company (NYSE:BMC), today announced the immediate availability of Flashboardsî version 5.1. Flashboards is a real-time visual management tool that graphically and dynamically displays the status of activity within your organization at any given moment, enabling managers and employees to quickly and easily prioritize tasks and execute actions that ultimately increase productivity. Flashboards allows Action Request Systemî (AR Systemî) developers to create applications that graphically monitor, track, and display AR System data through the use of graphs, charts, and meters. Using Flashboards, developers can create new applications for measuring and monitoring performance and activity in their organization and can also add Flashboards to any existing AR System-based application. Flashboards is tightly integrated with Remedy's flagship product, Action Request System, an adaptable application platform and development environment used to build and power service management applications that automate business processes. This tight integration allows managers to monitor present activities, and review historical performance on an individual, team, or activity basis. Flashboards can be used with any AR System based application, including Remedy's suite of Service Management applications and any custom built application. All Flashboards-enabled applications can be accessed through either a Windows client or a Web browser. Developers can also specify that certain Flashboards events or thresholds trigger alerts to be sent to users via email or a variety of wireless devices. Version 5.1 of Flashboards introduces advanced measurement metrics, including enhanced charts and meters, allowing data to be organized as desired by managers. Flashboards 5.1 is compatible with the recently introduced Action Request System version 5.1. Customers can take advantage of new features available with Flashboards 5.1 as well as the many new features provided in Action Request System 5.1 including Web services, currency support, a new email engine, and out-of-box plug-ins for Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP).
