BMC Software Completes Acquisition of OptiSystemsHOUSTON - (Aug. 8, 2000) - BMC Software, Inc. (NASDAQ:BMCS), the leader in e-business systems management, today completed its acquisition of OptiSystems Solutions, Ltd. (formerly traded as NASDAQ:OPTL and OPTLW). The acquisition adds depth to BMC's existing offerings for the management of SAP R/3, the transactional backbone of mySAP.com and many leading e-business systems. In June, the company announced a product integration roadmap for the OptiSystems products. The first integrated solution is available immediately, enabling PATROL customers to leverage the functionality of OptiSystems' Energizer Performance Management Environment (PME) for R/3 through PATROL. This integration allows customers to have a single view into their entire SAP R/3 environment as well as all of their other systems, databases and applications. In addition, customers will be able to move easily between Energizer PME for R/3 and PATROL for R/3 for advanced availability and performance problem troubleshooting, as well as ensure systems policies meet business policies.
