BMC Software incrementa sus ingresos un 6 por ciento, en el segundo trimestre del año fiscal 2005

Madrid, 2 de noviembre de 2004.- BMC Software, Inc. (NYSE: BMC), proveedor de soluciones de gestión corporativa, anuncia sus resultados económicos correspondientes al segundo trimestre fiscal de 2005, en el que los beneficios antes de impuestos fueron de 35,2 millones de dólares ó 0,16 dólares por acción, en comparación a los 22,2 millones de dólares ó 0,10 dólares por acción del año anterior.

En lo que se refiere a la facturación fue de 355,1 millones de dólares, un 6 por ciento más que en el mismo período de 2004, excediendo así la estimación consensuada de 347 millones de dólares que había hecho previamente la compañía y analistas. Los gastos operativos excluyendo 31 millones de dólares por cargas especiales se situaron en 321,9 millones de dólares, en comparación a los 320,8 millones de dólares registrados en el mismo trimestre de hace un año, excluyendo 49,7 millones de dólares por cargas especiales.

“Apreciamos una mejora en el entorno de gasto tecnológico en el segundo trimestre, particularmente en los Estados Unidos”, dice Bob Beauchamp, presidente y CEO de BMC Software. “Hemos hecho un buen trabajo de ejecución este trimestre, reflejado en nuestros grandes ingresos, beneficios por acción y reservas de licencias. Éstas últimas han crecido secuencialmente de manera espectacular en nuestras líneas de producto más importantes y en todas las grandes áreas geográficas. También seguimos mostrando una gestión sólida de los gastos y demostrando mejoras significativas en nuestros márgenes operativos, de tal forma que hemos duplicado nuestros márgenes operativos en el mismo trimestre de hace un año”.

Las licencias reservadas (license bookings) en el segundo trimestre del año fiscal 2005 ascendieron a 147,2 millones de dólares, con un crecimiento del 76 por ciento respecto al primer trimestre del año fiscal 2005. Además, se incrementaron un 11 por ciento anualmente.

Segundo trimestre año fiscal 2005-Resultados por segmentos

• Las reservas de licencias miden el valor de los contratos de nuevas licencias suscritos durante el trimestre, incluyendo la cantidad que se destina a ingresos y la que se localiza en la cuenta de ingresos por licencias, en la balanza de pagos. Se calculan añadiendo los ingresos por licencias y el cambio neto en la balanza diferida de ingresos por licencias.

BMC Software mantuvo su potente posición financiera con una balanza de cash y marketable securities cercana a 1,0 millones de dólares y una balanza récord total de ingresos diferidos de 1,407 billones de dólares. El cash flow por operaciones fue de 10 millones de dólares en el segundo trimestre y 100.1 millones de dólares para los seis primeros meses del ejercicio fiscal 2005. a compañía siguió con su programa de recompra de stock, gastando 25 millones de dólares para re-comprar aproximadamente 1,6 millones de acciones durante el segundo trimestre fiscal. Aproximadamente 262 millones de dólares permanecen en este programa.

Expectativas tercer trimestre y año fiscal 2005
BMC Software espera conseguir unos ingresos en el tercer trimestre fiscal de 380 a 395 millones de dólares y unos beneficios por acción de 0,18 a 0,23 dólares. Las estimaciones del tercer trimestre no incluyen 0,06 dólares por acción estimados de la amortización por tecnología adquirida e intangibles.

La compañía espera obtener una facturación del rango de 1,47 a 1,50 millones de dólares en el ejercicio 2005, y en cuanto a los beneficios fiscales en 2005 excluyendo cargas especiales serán de 0,67 a 0,77 dólares por acción. Las estimaciones fiscales de 2005 no incluyen alrededor de 0,23 dólares por acción de amortización por tecnología adquirida e intangibles.

En lo que se refiere al cash flow por operaciones en 2005 fue de 400 millones de dólares, que permanece sin cambios respecto a las expectativas primeras.
