BMC Software products first arrived in the Middle East through the efforts of IT professionals in the region who had already gained exposure to the products outside the region. Initially the customer base was predominately Mainframe orientated; however, in direct response to the increased demand for management solutions for the distributed arena, BMC Software opened its Middle East operation in 1998. The investment was further enhanced at the beginning of 2000 with additional business and technical professionals joining the Middle East team.

During the last fiscal year ended 31 March 2001, BMC Software Middle East enjoyed an unparalleled growth of 600% in license revenues together with a growth in the number of customers of 80%. Our Middle East customers include leading Banks, Oil Companies, Telcos, Utilities and Airlines. In line with the Middle East's drive for improved service to customers, the demand for BMC Software products has grown substantially. The strong demand for these solutions has continued into the current year, reflecting the Middle East demand for higher levels of Service.
