CUSTOMER WIN: Motorola Selects BMC Software To Enhance Managed Services for Customers

 

SYDNEY, August 10, 2010 – BMC Software (NASDAQ: BMC) has been selected by Motorola Australia Pty Ltd to provide its growing base of managed services customers with greater communications security and increased IT performance transparency.
 
Motorola chose the BMC Remedy IT Service Management Suite (ITSM), to standardize the company’s approach to managing its customers’ communications, using a common platform to promote best practices and protect customer confidentiality.
 
The BMC Remedy suite mobilizes the Motorola team to manage customer assets and automate ‘in-the-field’ repair, removes the necessity for paperwork, and improves overall service management.  Customers also have access to more detailed and transparent reports, which provide better visibility into how their services are being rendered.
 
Motorola’s managed services business is about delivering purpose-built, critical communication services that are optimized to individual customer requirements. Motorola’s team leverages the proven practices that comprise the managed services portfolio to design and manage the lifecycle of communications technology so it changes and adapts to the ‘living environment’ of every customer.
 
Key customers throughout Australia come from vertical markets, which include federal and state governments, emergency services, local councils, mining and resources and retail.

A critical component in the selection of BMC Remedy ITSM was the integrated Aeroprise Mobility for BMC Remedy solution. This mobile application enables Motorola’s remote service engineers to use Motorola’s mobile hand-held and laptop computers to update and track incidents, order parts, monitor availability and approve change requests.
