CUSTOMER WIN: Kabel Deutschland Channels Success with Greater IT Control from BMC Software

  • Major German cable operator upgrades its BMC Control-M solution to provide better functionality, greater control over planned outages
  • BMC helps provide timely and reliable transactions for Kabel Deutschland’s 8.9 million customers

MUNICH, July 7, 2010 – Kabel Deutschland (KD), Germany’s largest cable operator, has deepened its investment with BMC Software (NASDAQ: BMC) to increase the integration of key business processes into a single point of view, allowing for better management of the dynamic business needs of the organization.

KD’s IT operations faced the challenge of trying to adapt to meet the needs of a rapidly growing organization. Since expanding to serve 8.9 million households across 13 German federal states over the past five years, KD faced a greater need to be able to spot IT problems, manage batch updates, plan for outages and meet their service level agreements (SLAs) across a number of data centers. By upgrading its BMC relationship, KD can better integrate and map IT operations through Business Service Management (BSM).

With the addition of the BMC Batch Impact Manager, Forecast and Advanced File Transfer modules to the BMC Control-M solution, KD expects to meet its SLAs with better monitoring and reporting functionality, timely and reliable batch transactions, more control over planned outages and higher file transfer speed.
