Key Roles
Role Responsibility
Administrators and System Programmers • Responsible for the overall health of the system data
• Maintain and run the software that supports the scheduling system, which includes installation, upgrades, configuration, maintenance and control of the scheduling software's security
Operators • Monitor the scheduling system
• Fix and re-run problematical jobs, but typically do not create job schedules
Schedulers • Create the job schedules in a production environment
• Verify that jobs run correctly
• May monitor the system in conjunction with Operators
Mainframe Operators • Apply policies and procedures to meet the scheduling needs of the company
• Responsible for capacity planning, server consolidation, and performance optimization of systems, databases, networks, and applications
BMC CONTROL-M Skilled Professional • Execute installation, enterprise scale implementation, advanced tuning and configuration, and issue resolution on CONTROL-M for Distributed Systems
