Migrating from BMC Remedy AR System 7.1
Effective August 2009, BMC Educational Services recommends those pursuing BMC Remedy AR System Skilled Professional (RSP) certification, transition to the AR System 7.5 certification path. The 7.1 RSP examination will continue to be offered with the BMC Remedy AR System 7.x: Application Requirements Analysis, Design & Development until this course is decommissioned.

BMC Certified Professional AR System 7.5 Administrator
This certification validates BMC Remedy AR System Administrator level knowledge by testing candidate skills through an intensive online examination.
BMC Certified Professional AR System Administrators have demonstrated they have the knowledge critical for successful AR System administration. Those who obtain this certification can administer custom applications or continue to the ITSM Application Administration Learning Path to prepare to administer BMC Remedy ITSM applications.

The BMC Certified Professional AR System Administrator certification examination consists of multiple choice, multiple response, and true/false questions. The exam is open book. You are permitted to reference your printed classroom material and written notes during the exam. Those who fail receive one immediate retake at no additional expense. BMC Certified Expert AR System 7.5 Developer
This certification validates BMC Remedy AR System Developer level proficiency by testing candidate skills through an intensive hands-on practical examination proctored at a BMC Training facility.

The BMC Certified Expert AR System Developer certification examination is a practical examination that requires candidates to demonstrate they have the knowledge and skills necessary to evaluate a set of customer requirements and build an AR System application that efficiently and effectively meets these requirements.
Candidates who fail this examination are not granted an immediate retake and are required to register for and complete the BMC Remedy AR System 7.5: Developer- P3 course again. It is recommended that in these instances, candidates take time to gain additional field experience before re-enrolling in the BMC Remedy AR System 7.5: Developer- P3 course.

Migration Path
If you have taken the BMC Remedy AR System 7.1 learning path through the BMC Remedy AR System 7.x: Administering - Part 2 course, you can transition to the BMC Remedy AR System 7.5 learning path and pursue the BMC Certified Professional AR System 7.5 Administrator title.
If you have taken the BMC Remedy AR System 7.1 learning path beyond the BMC Remedy AR System 7.x: Administering - Part 2 course or if you are currently a BMC Remedy AR System 7.1 Skilled Professional, you have the option of substituting field experience for specific portions of the 7.5 learning path. The table and diagram below explain how much substitution is possible based on your current level of 7.1 education. CAUTION: The Developer - Part 3 course is a 5-day intensive practical examination where candidates must demonstrate they can evaluate customer requirements and build an efficient 7.5 application. Before enrolling in Developer - Part 3, candidates must be comfortable with requirements, analysis, and design concepts as well as the effective use of Developer Studio.

The questions test your understanding of concepts new to AR System 7.5 as well as validate your comprehension of traditional AR System administration theory. Those who fail, receive one immediate retake at no additional expense. To take advantage of the retake, you must begin the second exam attempt within 60 days of your registration date.
