BMC SOFTWARE DOWNTOWN CRITERIUM COMES TO THE STREETS OF AUSTIN, TEXAS
Professional Cyclists, Top Teams, Compete in First Stop of BMC Software Cycling Grand Prix

The BMC Software Cycling Grand Prix makes its first of four stops in Austin, TX as part of the annual Ride for the Roses weekend. Elite riders from around the world will compete in the BMC Software Downtown Criterium in support of Lance Armstrong and the mission of his Foundation; to help people manage and survive with cancer. The race will feature top international level teams on a high speed, one-mile course through the streets of downtown Austin. The entire race weekend will host an array of community elements including spectator friendly expos, live entertainment and interactive activities geared toward cycling aficionados and those new to the sport. The BMC Software Cycling Grand Prix is a premier professional race series on the Pro Cycling Tour, sanctioned by USA Cycling, the National Governing Body of the sport of cycling in U.S. The races will stretch from east coast to west coast, bringing some of the world's top professional cyclists to U.S. soil to compete for purses and potential bonuses that could exceed $225,000. |
