           Memory of Professional Cyclist Nicole Reinhart Honored Race Weekend
Memorial Ride, Memorial Service and Park Dedication Celebrate the Memory of Reinhart

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

June 28, 2001 (Norristown, PA) The cycling community and the Town of Arlington, Mass. will honor the memory of Nicole Reinhart, 24-year-old rising star in American cycling, through a series of events surrounding the BMC Software Tour of Arlington professional cycling races, July 8, 2001. Reinhart, a former member of the Saturn Cycling Team, was fatally injured in the Arlington race last September.


"Losing Nicole last year was a terrible tragedy for the close-knit family that makes up American cycling," said Dave Chauner, President and CEO of Threshold Sports. "As we approach this year's race, it's only fitting we take time to remember an extraordinary athlete and an even more extraordinary friend to the sport of cycling. She will be missed, but certainly not forgotten."


The Nicole Reinhart Memorial Ride will kick off race weekend, Saturday, July 7, beginning at 10 a.m. at the BMC Software Headquarters in Waltham, Mass. Registration is available for this 15-mile ride online at www.bikereg.com or from 8-10 a.m. on-site. Proceeds from the race will benefit the Nicole Reinhart Foundation.

The Memorial Ride will finish in front of Arlington Town Hall and will be succeeded by the Nicole Reinhardt Interfaith Memorial Service at Town Hall from noon-1 p.m. The service will be led by Nicole's father Mike Reinhart, Tom Schular the General Manager of Saturn Cycling Team, Dan D'Armond of BMC Software and Christine Rivers of Saturn.

Immediately following the Memorial Service, Saturn and the Town of Arlington will host a park dedication at the Cutter School Park located on School Street off of Massachusetts Avenue. The park will be named the Nicole L. Reinhart Memorial Playground at Cutter Park. The dedication will be followed by the BMC Software/The Ride Magazine Reception at The Ride Magazine Headquarters located at 1173 Massachusetts Avenue in Arlington Heights, beginning at approximately 1:30 p.m.
