Jim Grant, senior vice president of strategy and corporate development, continues drive the forward agenda for Business Service Management (BSM) at BMC. At BMC, leading to his current role, he has been the General Manager of the Remedy Software Business, and the Enterprise Service Management Business Unit. BSM and the sound process frameworks it supports remain the best answer for dramatically improving the operational effectiveness of IT organizations that pursue alignment with the businesses they serve.
Grant joined BMC Software in March 2003 from Hewlett Packard, where he spent more than 20 years in key management positions across the functional spectrum, including manufacturing and materials management, product marketing, operations and general management.
After earning his Masters degree from the University of Colorado, Grant taught operations management at the University. Working at Hewlett-Packard during this time and prior to joining BMC Software, Grant occupied a number of roles in management and general management of software organizations, most recently the vice president and general manager of the HP OpenView business.
