Dev Ittycheria
President, Enterprise Service Management
Dev Ittycheria is president of BMC's Enterprise Service Management business unit, where he is responsible for guiding the people and teams who develop, market, sell, implement and support BMC’s ESM suite of software solutions. Reflecting the vision of BMC's industry-leading Business Service Management (BSM) platform, the comprehensive yet modular ESM suite includes industry leading solutions such as BMC Atrium, BMC BladeLogic, BMC Performance Manager (formerly Patrol) and BMC Remedy.
Prior to its acquisition by BMC in March 2008, Dev was president & chief executive officer of BladeLogic and was responsible for the strategic direction and management of the company. Under Dev’s guidance, BladeLogic acquired more customers, delivered better operating performance in terms of revenue and profitability, and grew its business faster than any of its competitors. In July 2007, he led one of the most successful technology IPOs (NASDAQ:BLOG) of the year, making BladeLogic the first systems management software company to go public in the post-Internet bubble era. Before co-founding the company, Dev was an entrepreneur-in-residence at Bessemer Venture Partners, a leading global venture capital firm, where he developed the vision and recruited the core team to launch BladeLogic. In 2004, Dev was recognized jointly by Ernst & Young and Microsoft as an "Entrepreneur of the Year" for his leadership at BladeLogic.
Previously, Dev held senior leadership positions at Breakaway Solutions, AT&T and Teleport Communications Group. He also was co-founder, president & chief executive officer of Applica, a cloud computing and SaaS pioneer, which was later acquired by Breakaway.
Dev holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Rutgers University.
