Jays point #5 (Tune the work that runs during peak periods) is almost what every tuning class tells you – the only challenge has been identifying when the peak periods are FOR THE WORKLOAD as opposed for individual statements. To save cpu AND save money, it’s imperative that your SQL tuning efforts are targeted at SQL statements that are executed during your rolling four hour peak – and hence are contributing to your MLC charges
