Syncing Compute Resources and Service Demands
Users of modern business applications expect digital experiences that are fast, secure, and flawless. Yet, the IT services running these apps are more complex than ever before as organizations scramble to keep pace by investing in public and private cloud services with hopes of securing cost reductions and accelerated delivery.
Companies deploying these digital services struggle to find the balance between compute resources and service demands. When these two items are in sync, life is good. In reality, finding this balance is tricky because most capacity planning is done using antiquated methods involving multiple spreadsheets and emails. These low-tech approaches often lead to overspending, business delays, and compliance and security risks.
At BMC, we help companies and IT teams mitigate these complexities. Today we are introducing TrueSight Capacity Optimization 10.3, which aligns compute resources with service demands, resulting in faster time to market and optimized costs. It provides a view of the entire IT infrastructure – for physical, virtual, and cloud services so compute resources can be easily added, removed, or adjusted as application and service demands fluctuate.
“With TrueSight Capacity Optimization, we have far greater insight into capacity as a resource for new projects and campaigns,” said Martin Faulkner, capacity planning manager at Sky. “Now when we approach a large procurement deal, we are armed with accurate information and are equipped to not only buy the right amount of infrastructure at the right time, but also make better use of existing capacity.”
TrueSight Capacity Optimization now includes Amazon Web Services support so customers running workloads on the public cloud can have better visibility into their capacity needs and instantly know if they are over or under provisioned. Additionally, to help customers see value on day one of use, visual analytics is enhanced for simplified analysis, models, and reporting.
