As Director Information Technology Service Management, Seni Hlongwane is responsible for the following functions within the CIO branch: Service Level management, Information Systems, Capacity and Availability management, Policies, Procurement and Finance management as well as Security and Risk management. The contribution to the departmental strategy is to align IT with the business strategy for effective service delivery; putting controls and measures in place to mitigate possible security and risk incidents that might happen in the environment, conduct requirements analysis so as to acquire relevant and efficient resources required by the business, manage a good business relationship with the service providers, business, as well as clients served by IT. He also ensures best practice for ICT services processes and procedures according to ITIL, COBIT and ISO standards. In his service with the department, Hlongwane has been able to develop and maintain standards in the organisation. Processes, procedures, tools as well as brands have been standardised for uniformity and according to best practice. Hlongwane comes from an engineering environment academically but has worked and learned skills in an IT service providing environment as well as public education. He is a service oriented person with a sharp business sense. He looks forward to an environment where he will be able to make best use of his skills, talent and knowledge while offering his commitment.
