Another successful IDUG for BMC Software in Dublin Ireland

BMC Software was proud to be a Platinum Sponsor at this year’s IDUG EMEA, held in Dublin, Ireland.  What a great event!  DB2 and the mainframe are alive and well in EMEA.  Hundreds of attendees joined us from every industry, Automotive, Insurance, Financial Services, Banking etc.  There were great sessions on DB2 tips and tricks and about the upcoming DB2 12 release.  BMC provided five technical sessions as part of the main educational tracks, presented by Jim Dee, Phil Grainger, Dennis Jones, Dan Lohmeier and Ken McDonald.  BMC also hosted Lutz Becker from Gothaer Systems to talk about the impressive benchmarks they have measured using our Next Generation Utilities and comparing them to IBMs equivalents. The feedback was phenomenal!  Many thanks to Lutz and Gothaer for such an entertaining session.

On the exhibition floor our technical staff, led by Gianluca Alessi spent time showcasing not just NGT, but our entire suite of DB2 tools as well as our MLC Cost Management Suite. Thanks to Paul Oostvogels, Chris Duellmann and Sarah Robinson for their tireless work on the booth.  We closed the event with an incredible keynote by Jonathan Adams.  Jonathan discussed business in the digital tomorrow and what you have to do to be ready.

Lastly, thanks to all the BMC staff involved in the IDUG EMEA event, and thanks to all the customers and prospects who took the time to come and talk to us. As always, it was great to meet up with old friends again and to hopefully make some new ones. Without doubt, DB2 on z Systems is alive and well in EMEA!
