What did BMC Software acquire? |

We acquired privately held ProactiveNet, an industry-leading Service Analytics™ technology company that helps Global 2000 companies achieve and maintain value through the optimization of IT operations and service performance. From assuring service level compliance to streamlining IT operations, ProactiveNet is an essential and cost-effective BSM solution. ProactiveNet is unique in its ability to link SLAs and custom business metrics directly to the performance of the IT infrastructure in real-time.
ProactiveNet is targeted for the Enterprise System Management/DSM market.
This acquisition includes all ProactiveNet assets, products and intellectual property. All ProactiveNet personnel became BMC employees when the transaction closed.

The recent consolidation of NSM vendors and point solutions provides BMC with a window of opportunity to deliver value to customers in the event management market. Customers are being asked by their current vendor to replace their event management products and migrate to a new product set at significant expense. The combination of ProactiveNet and our leading performance, transaction and event management solutions will give BMC customers a strong, simple, intentionally integrated product line with significant business benefits. And, customers can adopt our solution incrementally, with rapid time-to-value. |

Existing BMC partners will not sell the “as is” ProactiveNet product; rather, they will sell BPM Intelligent Events upon its release in October. Further details will be provided to BMC Partners as the launch date of BPM Intelligent Events nears. |

What will happen to the current ProactiveNet Partner contracts? |

Current ProactiveNet Partner contracts will be terminated, and these Partners will be invited to apply for the BMC Partner Network Program where each company will be individually evaluated. |
