Many companies view compliance as a drain on IT resources. Often times, implementing and demonstrating IT governance is considered to be a separate project with little or no contribution to business value. In addition, companies seek to follow COBIT® (Control Objectives for Information and related Technology) industry best practices, such as ITIL®, and industry standards, such as ISO 20000, as a way of improving and integrating IT processes. Companies tell us they want more from their compliance investment than meeting the letter-of-the-law. These compliance standards need to deliver incremental value.
BMC offers solutions that map to the four main segments of COBIT: plan and organize; acquire and implement; deliver and support; and monitor and evaluate. These solutions provide the foundation for aligning with COBIT, as well as ITIL; improving IT processes and controls; and easing compliance with regulations, industry mandates, and internal policies. In addition, by adopting Business Service Management (BSM) from BMC Software, alignment with COBIT becomes a part of day-to-day IT operations.
