Guidelines for BMC User Groups
Local BMC User Groups meet regularly to discuss new ideas, technologies, and tips to help maximize their use of BMC products. Invitations are distributed to local regional lists by the local RUG organizer and not by BMC Software. BMC does not make any attempt to control the local User Groups, but when invited and wherever possible, will try to fill requests to support the meetings with a speaker or other help.
- BMC can offer advice with regard to content and dates if requested.
- If BMC is aware that there are multiple groups trying to organize User Groups at similar times in the same area, BMC will endeavor to help solve any issues, but cannot make any guarantees.
- BMC will commit to provide presentation assistance, if requested by the local User Group organizer. This will cover one speaker, subject to availability, and presentation on topic as agreed on between BMC and the User Group.
- When requested by the User Group, BMC will offer to sponsor the cost of the User Group meeting’s lunch or breakfast in exchange for sending a representative to speak.
- BMC will endeavor to help provide access to partners to provide resources, if so needed.
- To plan and execute a BMC User Group, which supports the needs of the BMC community and offers the users the opportunity to exchange information and provide the users an opportunity to network.
- To advertise the event in good time. We suggest invitations need to be sent out at least 3 weeks prior to an event.
- To use the local User Group event as an opportunity to present and share presentations that are technical and educational in nature.
- After the event has been completed, the local User Group organizer is encouraged to provide BMC with event feedback such as the number of attendees, and a summary of the major issues and concerns and action items. Collection of this information helps local User Group organizers and ensures that we are listening to the BMC community’s thoughts, concerns and feedback.
